'Mortal Instruments' Twitter fans: A Shadowhunter rescue mission

TMI fans are dying to know what's next for Jace and Clary. Even with the unidentified snippets author Cassandra Clare has given us for City of Lost Souls (release date: May 8), we all have dozens of questions:
  • What is Sebastian planning to do to Jace?
  • What are the new implications about Jace and Alec's relationship?
  • How will Clary, Alec, Isabelle and Simon protect Jace from Sebastian's clutches?
  • What will the Seelie Queen expect from Clary in return for her help?
Well, while trending last week's question of #WhatIsSebastianHiding, I noticed that there was another hashtag that was consistently being tweeted. Thanks to @loli6599 Lauren Noelle, for putting in the suggestion, we have the following trending topic for Monday's TMI Twitter Domination:

 #SaveJace
To lead this Shadowhunter rescue mission are your fearless Twitter leaders: @MundieMoms @TMI_Source, @TMIExaminer, @TMIspanishnews and myself, @TMI_Institute. We will start tweeting #SaveJace at 1:00 pm (ET) on Monday, April 23, and it will be a race to see how fast we can try to "#SaveJace". We want to get this to trend at #1 so pass the word on and please read the info below:

Here's some tips from my friend @ThePaisleyOwl on TMI trending do's and dont's:

Trending Do's:
  1.  Make sure everyone is entering exactly the same text.
  2. ONLY USE IT ONCE! as tempting as it is to use all 140 characters, apparently using it more than once can disqualify it for a count.
  3. Don’t use twitter’s RT feature…it won’t count it! If you really want to RT, copy/paste into a new tweet.
  4. Give your tweets some meat. Add in other phrases. Apparently Twitter is smarter than we think.
  5. It is said that it takes 60-80 tweets per minute for something to trend. It is also suggested that if we would like to have it trend the entire hour of 1 o’ clock then we could start tweeting at about 12:30PM EST & go all the way through to 2/2:30PM.
More trending suggestions:
http://blog.bufferapp.com/five-twitter-secrets-about-censored-trending-topics
  • -NO foul language!
  • -Total tweets AND number of people tweeting counts!
  • -It has to be either a topic that has never been popular before OR an old topic, but popular with new people! (keep this in mind when making suggestions)
  • -The same people saying the same things will NOT keep a topic trending.
  • -Twitter counts people more than tweets. We need numbers!!!
  • Things that prevent tweets from being counted!!!!
Trending Don'ts:
Do NOT do any of the things listed below! Not only will your tweets possibly NOT count towards trending topics, you could even have your Twitter account suspended:

Adding one or more topics/hashtags to an unrelated Tweet in an attempt to gain attention in search.
  1. Repeatedly Tweeting the same topic/hashtag without adding value to the conversation in an attempt to get the topic trending/trending higher.
  2. Tweeting about each trending topic in turn in order to drive traffic to your profile, especially when mixed with advertising.
  3. Listing the trending topics in combination with a request to be followed.
  4. Tweeting about a trending topic and posting a misleading link to something unrelated.
